If we don't stick together, we will fall!

Editorial

This is not all about money. This is about ethics, respect and dignity, which has been a scarce commodity around top levels of city hall for the past three years. Blair King is an outsider just passing through Lodi. He has no roots here, he has no stake in the long term future of our city, he has no love of Lodi like we do. He thinks he can say and do anything to any one because he's not going to retire here.

The rank and file city employees have no faith in him, rank and file citizens are standing up and objecting to him and his actions, and some city councilmen have said they are sorry he was hired. The council needs to do the right thing right now before more damage is done, or the people of Lodi will have to do it in November.

We citizens deserve better!

Friday

When?

With the city selling a chunk of its land for cash and the street sweeping crew being sold to the garbage company for cash its clear that Blair King is just selling off pieces of our town to build a bank account. WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO OBJECT? WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO DO SOMETHING? What will Lodi look like when Blair King finally leaves?

Thursday

Time is Now

If lodi employees don't rise up to save their jobs, they will be gone. Why doesn't Blair King tell everyone what his plan is? People should ask.

Frog in the kettle

If you think they will stop at contracting out the poor street sweepers, you're wrong. Let's not be like a frog in a kettle where the temp rises so slowly that before you know it its cooked. We need to act now before the city manager sends your job out the door.
Where are the tax payers? Sending the street sweeping jobs to the garbage company is only shifting their costs to the public. Waste Management gets their money from garbage rates, which the city council sets. Those rates will now have to cover the cost of street sweepers. The tax payers will get to pay for this service again through rising garbage rates. What a scam!

Wednesday

Technical problems?

Thanks to mysterious technical problems, the blog got zapped. But that doesn't change anything. The situation at the city of lodi is still the same. Changes need to be made and we intend to voice our frustrations with the current administration. City employees should contact city council people to tell them how they feel. Now's the time.
